The SalesManager product catalog contains all saleable items for the shopping cart. The items can be “fixed” or (via ePOS) configurable items. The product catalog is only used in the shopping cart!
The following toolbar is displayed in the Catalog tab:
Create a new article.
Saving the data
Search for data records with the criteria entered in the Search tab
Generate printouts in the form of reports or ePOS print rule sets
Delete the article. In the search filter, pressing this button causes all fields to be emptied.
Cut a selected text.
Copying a selected text
Paste a text from the clipboard
Go back to the last edited object.

Duplicating the article
Create a shopping cart for this item. If a shopping basket is stored for an item, the shopping basket for the item is copied when the item is added to a shopping basket. This assignment is suitable for managing sample shopping baskets as well as for managing assembly structures. In this case, the name of the shopping basket is displayed in the Shopping basket field. If an existing shopping cart is to be used as a sample shopping cart, the shopping cart must be opened and copied using drag and drop.
Where-used list. All shopping cart items that reference this article are listed. The item can be updated for the items found. When the item is replaced, the name, the sales text, the price and the attached documents are replaced by the data of the catalog item. The attached documents in the shopping cart are deleted beforehand. Further information can be found in the SalesManager developer manual.
The product catalog consists of the following parts:
the grouping tree - a hierarchical division of the articles into article groups and the articles themselves. The articles can be assigned at any hierarchy level of the grouping tree.
The items in the product catalog can be both fixed and configurable items. In this case, the specific item is determined via ePOS when it is transferred to the shopping cart.
Even the “fixed” items do not have to be fully defined in the product catalog. When an item is transferred to the shopping cart, a copy of the item is created there and the “missing” data can be entered there. For example, not every article with every color has to be in the product catalog.
It is also possible to store standard items for shopping baskets in the product catalog that are not items, e.g. outline items or conditions (text items).
The appearance of the output documents, such as an offer or a packing list, is also controlled in the product catalog. For this purpose, you can store \body names\ for text modules for the items, which are later supplemented by a document identifier and a language identifier for the output language. It is also possible to store texts directly at the item.
